This session will emphasize how a board can efficiently organize itself to make sound fiscal decisions and maintain accountability to donors, funding sources, constituencies and regulating bodies. The session will define the board's fiduciary responsibilities; the role of the board, committees and staff in financial oversight; key elements of a financial report; budget development strategies and the importance of creating and maintaining an effective investment policy.
