Too often the Board of Directors is viewed as necessary to satisfy legal requirements and external expectations, but seems, at times, to be more trouble than it is worth. This workshop will focus on practical strategies to engage volunteer board members as effective partners and valuable contributors to the achievement of the organizations mission.

Key Takeaways:

  • How to structure effective and engaging board meetings
  • Understanding how to provide board members with the rewards that will motivate their engagement
  • How to manage the work of the committees
  • How to effectively distinguish between the implementation responsibilities of staff and the oversight responsibilities of the board

This workshop will be presented by Michael Davidson, Board Coach

Area of Excellence: Governance
